Get to work early, skip lunch, late home
This is how most of us cope with an ever growing to do list.
We were interested to read an article by Wesley Verhoeve the founder of Family Records and GNTLMN.com whose team at Family Records had to bridge a 6 week gap in between offices
He says that“The experience of working out of coffee shops was so positive that even after we moved into our new home, I made sure to get in a few “coffee shop days” each month.”
He continues “A change of environment stimulates creativity. Even in the most awesome of offices we can fall into a routine, and a routine is the enemy of creativity. Changing your environment, even just for a day, brings new types of input and stimulation, which in turn stimulates creativity and inspiration.”
Being interrupted in the office for work chats or being asked work questions kills productivity
Wesley comments
“The coffee shop environment combines the benefit of anonymity with the dull buzz of exciting activity. Unlike working at home, with the ever-present black hole of solitude and procrastination, a coffee shop provides the opportunity of human interaction, on your terms.”
You can even get the chance to meet new people which can provide new ideas, or perhaps run in to business associates? Sounds good to us, see you in Starbucks for a days’ work soon!
Credit where credit’s due; Gotcha would like to acknowledge this article that got us thinking about this topic.
