How to reduce the risk of of a non starter…
- Keep weekly contact with the new starter
- Clarify if they have any other active interviews ensuring they are no longer actively looking
- Make sure the salary/package is what they are really wanting and not just a stop gap until they find something with a higher salary
- Introduce them to the team, invite them to a meeting or social event getting them to feel part of the department
- Ensure they know that they can come to you at any point for help or assistance
- Praise them when they have done something well!
